Day 1- I am Annibell
Dear Journal,
My name is Annibell Parker and I am twelve years old, today is my birthday and I got this nice journal from my momma and papa. I live in Louisiana on a cotton plantation farm. I am a slave and my daily duties are cleaning the masters shoes, washing the floors, picking fruits and vegetables from the garden, and washing the master's laundry and hanging it out to dry.
I live with my momma, papa and little brother Tony. We live in a cabin behind the master's big house, with three other families, my best friend Jessie lives with her family in our cabin too. We like to play together whenever all our work is done, but that isn't very often, because she works in the horse barn and has a lot more work to do then I do.
My masters name is Mr. Miginis, he is married to Mrs. Miginis and they have two children Mary and Andrew. Mary is twelve like me and goes to a big school, she doesn't like me much and is always mean to me and telling me what to do. Andrew is just a baby, he cries a lot and is taken care of by my momma.
I don't go to school, because I work during the day, but my momma does the best to teach me things. When I get big I wanna be a doctor and help all the sick people in the world. Well journal I need to go now, I gotta get up to work in the morning. I will write in you again tomorrow.
